Little Nihon Wonder in Hachimantai kennel

“Though he is conveniently sized, easy to groom, clean and quiet indoors, and not a nuisance underfoot, the Shiba Inu is not an easy-to-live-with lapdog, but a bold,
high-spirited, hardy "big dog" in a compact body.”

M. Welton

After given it quite some thought we finally decided to purchase our first Shiba Inu puppy from Japan .

Why an Akita Inu may be considered expensive?
Since we sold the last puppy from the litter of 2 САС , Champion of Ukraine Mikunihomare Go Kagano Yaoya x 2 CAC, 2CACIB, Champion of Ukraine Aihime Go Seaside Nakagawa, both of which were imported from Japan, we noticed that the “high” price of our puppies was a topic of discussion on several Russian Internet forums.
I am convinced most of our friends and colleagues involved in Akita Inu breeding, who are making a lot of efforts to popularize and improve the quality of the breeding stock, will agree with our point of view.

Akita litter expected at the end of April 2009

Here at Hachimantai we take the breeding of our Akitas very seriously, it isn't a case of two dogs mating to produce puppies, or using the substandard stud dog from down the road for convenience. Each breeding is carefully planned and is given great time and consideration into producing a quality puppy that not only excels in breed type but has the temperament we desire, which is of paramount importance when breeding such a large and powerful breed. Beni Hana Go expected to arrive in January 2009
Yes, we mean it here, at Hachimantai Kennel.
We just decided to go for it and purchase our third Аkita straight in Japan , from Jitaro Nakagawa, President of the National Akita Club of Japan and one of Japan 's most honoured Аkita experts.
Beni Hana, which means “red flower” in Japanese, is an absolute beauty, born on July 10, 2008, with a very impressive pedigree. More info>>

Our last trip to Kiev was probably our most difficult one. Not because we had to spend a lot of time and effort to prepare all veterinary certificates, to find and book the most suitable flight for our dogs, to find and select proper sized vari-kennels, to have the dogs measured and weighed at the cargo terminal prior to the actual flight, to spend a whole lot of money, etc, as everyone we contacted in Dubai – veterinarians, air company representatives, customs officers and export section employees of the Dubai airport cargo terminal went out of their way to fully assist and help us.

Since Aihime and Kansai each weighed more than 32 kg in their vari-kennels we were not allowed to check them on board in the passenger terminal. We had to transport them as life cargo through the cargo terminal. And obviously we worried, but in the end everything went pretty smoothly there. More info>>
